This bio is an Assemblage. I think that I have always been attracted to changing the context of ‘found or other wise*’ items. Having the need to create, I would use what I had already and/or had found. And found objects always have so much history to play with. Not only are their textures, shapes, and colors unique, but where they’ve been hiding how well they’ve been used, contribute a whole other psychological layer to a completed assemblage. I was also able to draw very well at a very young age and have always considered that a part of what made me special. A gift, to be shared. So I guess that it was inevitable that I would be drawing and painting on unconventional surfaces. So, who knows where this will go? Many more discoveries ahead I’m sure. My art education has been sporadic but concise. My primary focus in art school was printmaking (lithography) and drawing. I currently live in Davis, CA. I make commissioned murals, illustrations, portraits, etc., as well as my own art endeavors, for my living. I am happiest when I am creating, so I try to maintain that activity as much as possible. * a found object: just that , but you must keep it to confirm it, which is a bit different than an other wise object that found objects can become over long periods of time. Other wise objects are those things that you just know you can do something with. Wise? Maybe it’s other.
